Place a sticky sidebar below a not-sticky one (as default)

I know there has been a lot of talk regarding however you´re allowed (or not) to place AdSense ads in the sticky sidebar. Regardless of the discussion I was thinking that maybe it would be possible to use some kind of double sidebar trick (CSS or with code or settings)?

My thought is to place a not-sticky sidebar containing an adsense ad (and some other content) first. Then below that place a sticky sidebar (with other information and affiliate ads etc.) that follows the user as he/she scrolls.

Could this be possible? It feels so empty when you scroll down not having the sticky sidebar to fill up the space on the right 😀

Hi,

There can be only one sidebar on posts, category pages etc. That sidebar can be sticky or not. On created pages you can place ad-boxes where you want and make sticky sidebars like in this guide

I believe the Google rules in this matter are very strict indeed

Yeah, one shouldn´t mess with Googles rules 😛

However is it possible to maybe create a sidebar and add it by editing the php of the post (for example) template. So that it always displays before the regular sidebar?

Hi,

These are the files where the sidebars on the post templates are called

Each post template has a corresponding single php file where you can try and make modifications if you need to. Try inserting your content above the sidebar section.

Thanks
