Hi awesome people at TagDiv,
I still have ‘Newspaper theme’ installed on my primary website and I am indeed proud of it. It still looks much better than any other news/magazine themes available in the market.
But with the recent advancement in the content industry, there are few features which are slowly becoming the MUST for all the modern day’s news websites and I am sad to say that TagDiv team works very slow with the updating the theme with major feature enhancements.
I know that whenever we ask about the feature updates, the team says that they have a lot of bug backlogs, security features, and other fixes to look at before actually adding any new features to combat the modern website needs and features adopted by other websites.
But then, it’s kind of sad because it means that either your current themes are highly imperfect ( so you always need more time for the improvements, security fixes) or the developers are very slow in the developments process.
I am sure that the first option is totally untrue since your themes are really highly stable, bug-free and awesome but then I have to think about the second option to blame the slow process of adding new feature updates.
The reason I am saying this more emphatically is because almost after 2 months of purchasing ‘NewsPaper theme’ , I had purchased a new theme called ‘Bimber’ by ‘BringThePixel’ team and I must say that within 6-7 months of having them for one of my projects, they have made lots and lots of super awesome feature updates that I am still only dreaming here with NewsPaper ( alongwith fixing old issues)
After almost every two months, they do some major updates. In their very recent major update ( today itself), they have also included ‘Auto Load Next Post’ along with many other new features. Here is one snapshot of their very recent update list:
There are hundreds of threads here asking for the ‘Auto load next post’ feature in newspaper theme. I have also noticed that now many major news sites like thenextweb.com, vice.com, Quint.com etc. have already included ‘Auto-load next post’ in last two months on their site. With millions of social media users on the internet. People are now more used to the habit of keep scrolling endlessly for news/contents till they find something interesting and hence it’s almost mandatory now for other news sites as well for more traffic and low bounce rate.
Many other features like ‘creating trivia, personality quizzes, more robust ad-management, sticky share buttons, watermarks can also make our Newspaper theme super awesome.
Newspaper theme has always been Payoneer in bringing the most advanced features needed to bring more traffic, stability and optimisation to the news/magazine theme industry and I do want TagDiv to continue this culture of being the best and top-notch.
So, please please work on new features, at-least this ‘Auto load next post’ thing to not let us feel inferior in the current content world. Also, if possible, make a page for the public roadmap of the features you want to include in the future updates where users/members can upvote to prioritize the features for the next update. In the start-up world, this culture of making a public roadmap is very much famous and really helpful in creating a more robust and user-friendly product/tools/services.

Please keep in mind that we try doing the best to improve our theme! As you can see in our changelog, your requests are not confirmed and that’s why we the theme does not contain these features, sorry! We have added to our list of improvements but please notice that is not an easy task to implement them, sorry! We cannot take any decisions in this regard because we are not aware to do this. Our developer’s team can do that and they are able to determine whether or not this can be implemented. Regarding on “Auto Load Next Post” feature, until now, we do not found any good solution to implement it in our theme which works as expected with all of our post templates, sorry! It’s a hard decision which can take a long time until we will find a solution in this case. Also, please do not exaggerate with the number of requests for this option because they are not in the order of thousands as you say. There are only few requests. As I said you above, it’s a tough decision to implement on the subject that will affect not only customers in India or America but also all global customers.

Before saying anything, let me clarify that I didn’t say that there are thousands of users looking for this. I said hundreds.
Though I didn’t actually count before writing this number, please don’t put wrong figures on my name. 🙂
Also, not all the customers actually comments here for the feature requests, but amongst whatever other feature requests are there on this platform, ‘Auto load next post’ is prominent over them,
I have also given you a few global news site examples. Now, it doesn’t mean that only Indian or USA sites are adding this. It’s just that these are the sites which I usually visit and I noticed new changes in it in last few months.
Anyways, I was only trying to make you aware of what’s happening in this line outside. I don’t think that the tone of my message above was to show Newspaper theme is inferior in any way. It’s just that I wanted it to be the best.
I am not going to ask for the refund but I will certainly keep reminding you about the features that are still missing here. 🙂

Please keep in mind that we know about this situation and we are perfectly aware of this. Also, please notice that is no need to insist because our developers are working hard to found a solution in this case and if it will be found, this will be included in our theme packed and if not, will not be included, sorry!

Is there any update in regards to this? I would also like the possibility to have infinite load of posts when people scroll down. This is a feature that is more and more used.
I see that this topic dates from september the 6th. Has there been any update on this? Will it be added or not? And if yes, when?

Please keep in mind that our developers are working hard on implementing such major improvements to our theme which allows us in the future to implement very easy this infinite scroll on posts.

Unfortunately we have no time frame to provide. It is still in development and it could take a bit of time before we can actually add infinite scrolling on posts. This is not an immediate quick fix we can implement rapidly and it is not yet actually confirmed it will be implemented. The new system we are currently implementing will make it easier to make infinite scrolling but we are not yet sure it will make it in the next big theme update or it will have to wit for the ext one. Only our developers can decide and we do not yet have exact information to provide. It is still to early to say for sure. These things take time. We cannot rush the implementation.
