Hey There!
We use a plugin for another site, Edit Author Slug, this allows us to personalize the authors base and the name, I dont know if this could break the functionality of the theme?, I’m setting things up.

Hi,
Unfortunately we did not tested this plugin with the theme, so I don’t know if it works with the theme and I cannot make any suggestions. Feel free to try it and see if it works.
