Popular posts showing on page are totally wrong, does not match with real popular posts from stats.
popular posts vs stats

Hi,
I think that the problem is related to the post that is assigned on the grid -> https://i.imgur.com/XxAbVDg.png
Also, the popular post option will take the statistics using the theme view count.
Thank you!

This -7270 is there for a reason. But if that messes up the whole popular posts system (instead of not showing one post with ID 7270) then don’t you think it’s a bug? 🙂 Anyway, removed it, and no change. Stats still does not match with popular posts.

And… post view and everything is already set as it should, as described in documentation and in forum posts. Everything is set up exactly that way. So yes post view is on and it’s raising. I can do 20 clicks, and can see that views will show/count all these clicks and it also shows in stats. But popular posts does not change.

After some experiments, it looks like even if post counts work, popular posts have their own count somewhere else and counts ONLY administrator clicks (administrator has been set that way that no cache). So there is something to do with cache probably, even when Ajax view count and show post views is on and you see on page that it’s counting, number is going bigger after every refresh. Popular posts still ignore these view counts.

And no, disabling cache is not an option here. Using cache is a necessary thing today. Jetpack stats and popular posts works with cache too. And like I said, theme view count is also raising with every refresh.

Hi,
I think that you are right, using an -7270 id will not apply only if you are using the popular jetpack option, and you have set the 24h option.

Maybe there are some problems. Do you have the possibility to make a staging or set the website on subdomain so we can check it without affecting the live website? If yes, please do so and contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com provide wp-admin for the staging and we’ll try to find the problem.
Thank you for your understanding!
