Friday from 12.40 until 13.00 Italian hours and also on Saturday (from 12.00 to 13.00) we encountered problems: the site did not load and gave a blank page (it kept trying to load without ever opening). Then the problem solved itself.
This is not the first time this has happened, but for a few weeks we have updated everything to the latest version.
The shared hosting provider (Aruba) says the problem could also be the theme or plugins (so they say when it occurs they recommend renaming the wp-plugins folder). It seems strange to us …
Could it be from newspapers, as they say, or from plugins attached to newspapers? Or can it depend on other plugins or the server, as we fear, that they manage?
What advice can you give us?
We had thought of making an exact copy of the site (same version of wp, plugins, php, etc.) on another domain (discouraging the indexing of the site) to see if the same problem occurs when the problem occurs on centumcellae.it occurs simultaneously on the copy …
Can this be a useful test?
Another thing we can think of: can it be due to jetpacks?

Hi,
I think that you updated everything but not the theme, you are using Newspaper v 10.3.5 and WP 5.5.1 but only from Newspaper v10.3.6.1 was added the compatibility with WP 5.5 -> https://i.imgur.com/X4AUBUR.png -> https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Please make a full backup to website and database and make the theme update -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ and yes, you can make first the update in a staging or sub-domain to see how the update is working.
After you make the theme update and the problem still persists make a test and disable all non theme plugins, clear all cache and try again, is possible to use some untested plugins that can interfere with the them functionality.
