Post Content Width

Hi
Please can you help with the settings for the following:

I’d like the post content to have a smaller width (a medium style blog) with no sidebars
and roughly 650px-700px width, and content centred on the page. (e.g. https://medium.com/@shiftaverage/good-enough-147b57d1f56c#.y0vlu3ar3).

I’d like to keep the header & footer the full width, but just have the content, post title & meta info to have a narrower width.

Thanks

Hi,

You could disable the sidebar from the post (if you want this only on certain posts) – http://screencast.com/t/Q0IygvpV
Or globally from Theme Panel – Template Settings – http://screencast.com/t/JrN8unHM
Or from Theme Panel – Categories (if you want to affect only posts from certain categories) – http://screencast.com/t/yxm6puIP

To shrink the content width you could use custom css and add some padding – http://screencast.com/t/hN2mo5RT
The css must be placed in Theme Panel -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!

Hi,

I’m following this thread.
and i followed your instruction.

However, it also gives an effect to mobile view.

What should i do to make this changes, only applied in desktop version.
So in mobile, it still looks okey.

Hi,

If you are using custom code, and you want it to apply only for certain devices you could enter it in the Advanced Css section of the theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/gobPgk4MH
If this is not the case and you would need further help, please provide more information and specific details where you want to make changes. Also provide a link to your website pointing to that location.

Thanks
