Post loop with and without images

I am working with a local newspaper in the UK and not all the stories in their archives have images, in fact, not all new stories will have images as it is not always possible to provide an image – particularly for a sensitive story.

I’m trying to find a Post Loop layout in the Newspaper theme that displays an image when a featured image is present, but doesn’t when there is no image, moving text to fill the space where the image would be. I can’t find an element to do this – or am I missing something.
