How can I make the post settings when creating an article to show up also for Author role? I want them to be able to change the post template. This was a last minute surprise as we are planning to go live tomorrow…
I see this is related to the “publish posts” capability, but I can’t allow that for Authors, because everything needs to go through the editor-in-chief. I would need them to be able to choose from a few post template options though.

I already tried this with another plugin – but what capability should I choose? I don’t wan’t the writers to be able to publish the posts, I just want them to see the Post options… There doesn’t seem to be such at thing.

thank you. I think I have to go the functions.php route. However, I would need more information. I’m using a child theme for the Newspaper, so of course the functions.php doesn’t have line 102, it only has the code for the child theme. However, even when I look at the main theme’s line 102 of functions.php, it says
add_theme_support(‘align-full’);
Which doesn’t seem to be the thing to edit here. So what should I edit and how should I include it in the child themes functions.php?
