Post sidebar settings based on post category

Hi guys

I am using setting up my blog using the Newspaper theme and so far so good. On my single post page I have a sidebar widget that shows my latest post.

Is it possible to have different settings for this sidebar widget based on the posts category?

For example I have two categories (music releases and music mixes) and when reading an article about a release the sidebar should show latest mixes. Vice versa if you are on a music mix page.

Is this kind of customization possible?

Hi,

The posts will inherit the sidebar of the primary category, if no specific sidebar is set per post (in the post edit screen)

So if you were to set a sidebar with the widgets you want showing ” Latest mixes” for the “Music releases”, all the posts that have that category as primary will display it.

All the posts have a primary category, if you don’t set one manually the first one alphabetically will be picked.
