Post template for vertical videos

I need to create a post template that displays vertical videos, such as YouTube Shorts and IG Reels. I’ve tried using tagdiv to create a new template and layout, adding a shorts link to the video feature position, just like the default video template. However, the video won’t display on the front page. I’d like to know if tagdiv templates can display vertical videos like YouTube Shorts and IG Reels?
Do I need to use any plugins? Could you recommend any?

Hi,
If you want to set a feature video, then you can use YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, or Twitter. It will be embedded in the post, and the thumbnail will be used as the featured image of this post.
If you want to embed the video in post content, you can do it simply like for any blog, and it should work without the need to use an extra plugin.

I’ve tried adding a feature video, but it seems to only support 16:9 aspect ratio videos. Now I want to add a 9:16 aspect ratio vertical video, such as YouTube shorts and IG reels. When I paste the video link directly into the feature video area, the article page cannot display the 16:9 vertical video.

Hi,
I understand, it may be a dead end, but please give me a link you want to use and I will do some testing, maybe I will find a solution.
Thank you!

Hi,
I checked the articles and ran some tests. After reviewing the code, it seems that the related elements for featured video with shorts and reels aren’t handled, so it won’t work to set them as featured videos only setting them directly in the article will work.

Thank you for understanding!
