I have a site that’s in both English and Chinese. Recently, even though nothing has been changed/added/updated, all the video posts in Chinese are now just static images.
Furthermore, when I edit the post, it says the post is a video post but it’s not displaying as one. If I change it to “Standard” and hit update, when the page refreshes it will still show “Video” in the radio buttons, but when you click the link no video is shown. It’s very frustrating. Theme cannot magically change your settings overnight. Perhaps you have automatic updates turned on for plugins or WordPress, or you used the pokey Envato plugin to update your site theme (FTP is best).
Put another way, the “theme” cannot change your post settings without you knowing about it. So, check to see what you did between the time you set it and it changed.
Are you a representative of Tagdiv?
I understand what you’re saying, but what I don’t understand is how it could have happened from updating wordpres alone — the only thing that automatically updates is the version of wordpress, that’s it… I’ll wait for a representative from tagdiv who can login with FTP and have a look at what’s going on. This might be an issue they are unaware of… If you have a solution, let me know.
Note that WordPress 4.4 introduced some bugs; which is why a new version of theme was released on the 15th. So, you likely would want to update to the latest theme version.
I don’t work here; but using the theme for 2 years now 🙂
TagDiv will give you same advice above:
a) clear cache; reset CDN if needed
b) turn off all plugins except Visual Composer – check posts?
b) update theme and plugins if you have issues from WordPress 4.4 update.
They will, of course, be back on Monday.
However, they generally want you to look at fixes before they (sometimes) offer to look at issue for you from your login.
I am not having this issue with our sites, nor have I seen anyone else report this.
Do you use WPML bilingual?
I’ve updated the theme, I can’t disable WPML as Chinese is a core functionality of this site, which has hundreds of pages.
All the posts in English display as video posts, all the posts in Chinese display as images only. httv.us is the domain.
Even when I create a new video post in Chinese, it will not work. Nor when I create a new post in English then translate to Chinese. Nothing else has changed in the background except WordPress updating automatically, and me updating newspaper to the latest version. I don’t have automatic plugin updates, etc…

Unfortunately the plugin you are using is not tested with the theme and it could be conflicting since the new version of WP. We usually recommend ‘qtranslate x’ as we ran a few tests with it and it seamed to work properly. You can try to disable all plugins except visual composer and wpml and see if another plugin is the cause of the issue. As Chris suggested above, we usually want to rule out a few things before we request wp-admin as most of the issues can be solved by removing certain plugins and modifications that interfere with the theme functionality. Even when we request wp-admin the first thing we do is disable all plugins except visual composer and go from there with our tests. At the moment we do not have any reports of such issues with our theme since wp 4.4 The only errors we found were related to category pages and pagination/infinite loading. These were fixed ion the current version though.
