Our blocks can display a custom post type but you have no control over a custom taxonomy though. If you want to show a book post type in a block you can simply type in the book type like so: http://screencast.com/t/05CUStsO
If you used our plugin and created the td_book CPT, you can set it from the block settings to display on your homepage: Simply use the ID you gave your CPT (our plugin uses ‘td_book’)

Unfortunately, this is the default theme’s behaviour and if you want to make the theme working deeper in this case you will need to do some additional customizations through code that involves custom work and we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry! If you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you!
