Not sure if I can explain this clearly.
What I want to have happen is make a post, create a layout style, for the posts that are for the monthly issues we produce in print.
Then, if I need to use a tag, say August 2020, I can tag the articles there are in the paper online.
Can I create a layout and then add related posts via tag to that layout?
Has anyone done this?
Would a template work?
Or would I have to have a new template per each month?

The tags will work as categories, you create them and assign to posts after that when you select the tag it will be open the tags page where will be display all the post that have the selected tag. Also you can use a cloud template for tag template.
