Following the creation of an article in the website I always post to Facebook. My recent posts are no longer displaying the featured image from the post. Please advise most urgently. I cannot fathom the issue website http://pigsly.info

Did you check your post to see if the OG meta data is actually there?

Also note sometimes FB simply times out when sharing, and you might have to once in a while do the ‘refresh attachments’ option on your FB post from your FB page.

We run into this every few weeks. Super annoying. 🙂

Hi Chris Thanks for the super fast response. I haven’t a clue – what is OG meta data? Where do I find it? Sorry needs lots more guidance

Ah, OG meta is the ‘open graph’ tags used by Facebook; normally you’d manage those with a plugin like Yoast SEO or All in one SEO or even a simple OG plugin. Facebook needs those tags, which can be seen when doing ‘view source’ of one of your posts. Without them, they will not grab correct info most of the time. 🙂

( I don’t work here; just been using TagDiv stuff for four years, and WordPress since 2005 … )

Thanks for taking the effort to respond to an old bugger going around the twist. I will laboriously troll through my SEO bits and bobs and try to figure out what has gone haywire. It is seriously stuffing up my posts
