Primary Category option missing in 7.5?

Hello – Just cruising through my POST SETTINGS and I’m not seeing the PRIMARY CATEGORY option in there? Am I blind? (quite possible) 🙂

Theme does not control primary category setting of a “post”; that is not part of WordPress or the theme.

Likely a plugin you’re using for that.

There is a ‘default’ category setting under WP settings > writing, I believe.

Oops. Sorry, I’m using newsmag theme.

That option should be in the post options section, as noted in the docs.

Hi,

Well the option should be there in 7.5 as well. Here is an example from our end: http://screencast.com/t/6pxHIHVXgVd
Make sure you have the theme options available from the screen options: http://screencast.com/t/aIKqWcRopp
If the option still does not show up, you can try to disbale all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. We have seen plugins and other issues prevent theme options from showing up. The mega-menu option for one.

Ahhhh – this is ENTIRELY my misunderstanding. For some reason I was looking for a ‘global’ setting (in the Post Settings section), not an individual post setting. Of course that makes sense.

Found it and got it figured.
