Primary/Header Menu not saving "CLICK HERE – TO SELECT OR CREATE A MENU"

Hi,

I just bought the NewsMag theme and I must say kudos for such an awesome theme.

Being an existing customer of your NewsPaper7 theme setting up NewsMag was so easy for me. However, I am having two challenges presently

1. The Primary/Header Menu: I have an existing Primary/Header Menu and each time I assign it the header location and save, it goes off when I refresh and then shows up “CLICK HERE – TO SELECT OR CREATE A MENU” I have saved and saved this several time, but when it saves and I refresh the page it goes off and show the message above. Please I need your immediate help on this as this is making our site look somehow considering the fact that the Header menu is one noticeable part of a site.

2. Excerpts: I wanted to set the excerpt number to “0” in block 6 so that only the title shows and when I save and I refresh the page not happens, the excerpts will still be there.

Please help me with the fix with these two as I have searched the entire support forum and could not get a solution or fix.

Finally I need to know if using a child theme is necessary for the NewsMag. I am not using any child theme, just uploaded the theme following the instruction on documentation. Will future updates break or remove anything I have said?

Hello afriwired,

1)I guess that you have some problems with theme saving. First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newsmag 3.2) and also, the latest version of required plugins that come bundled with the theme, clear all your cache and rule out any conflicts. Also, check the system status to be higher increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
2)If you want to do not have any excerpts for Block 6, you should add the 0. value at the right section, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/krPXuVe0Rb1n

Hi Catalin,

I have done everything you suggested still not is working. I can’t save our primary header menu and this very bad for our us now. Please how can this be fixed?

Also good to increase memory to 96M in your wp-config.php file as it really really helps!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your contribution. My site is presently on Shared Hosting. Will increasing WP Memory to 96MB as you suggested have any adverse effect on my account or WordPress blog?

Hi Catalln,

I think I have been able to fix this. I deactivated WT3 Total Cache and activated WP Super Cache and the menu is saved constantly though I am still watching it.

About the Excerpts on blocks I will check and report back here.
