Printing in Safari / Firefox

My client is a regional business news organization … https://pbn.com When they print an article from Chrome it works fine, but not when they print from Safari or Firefox. Many of their readers still want to print articles.

Please see attached PDFs showing how the right side of the article is being cutoff on Safari and Firefox. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

You might create your own custom style sheet for printing. Lots of online tutorials for this.

Most themes have no such option built-in as the universe has moved to “paperless” and “print to PDF” or “save as PDF” is more common these days and that if often subject to how the particular solution works in printing, often with its own internal styles to embed fonts legally in PDF vs bitmaps.

Some browsers require setting print layout to ‘wide’ (landscape) vs ‘tall’ (portrait).

Or, install a print to PDF plugin, which is what we did on our site(s). I think we use the free one from bestsoft or something like that.

(( I don’t work here. ))

Thanks for the ideas, Chris. The Newspaper theme is already setup with CSS to have the posts be printer-friendly. But the CSS appears to work only on Chrome and appears to be off a bit for Safari / Firefox. Was hoping someone had already encountered and solved this problem. 🙂 But I definitely appreciate you taking the time to respond with some other ideas!
