Hi Team,
We found that there is a problem with Google+ sharing on posts. When we want to share any post to Google+, only our organization name shows up in the Google+ screen, the post title is missing. In the past, it worked perfectly. We have tried to fix it but failed.
Could you kindly have a look?
You can try to share any post, the result is the same. For Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, they are working properly.
Thank you in advance.
Hello nicobros,
I have checked this functionality to our demo preview and the Google+ sharing seems to work as expected and the post title is right shared on this social media, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/cscxJ8n6 Most likely, the bad is on your website and Google settings account and not come from our theme. When you share a post on Google+ from your website, the post title appears in URL but not under the featured image, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/dsLF0OI4zQ Check the Seo Yost plugin settings because only from there you can control this functionality. The theme does not have any such an option for this case, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
@nicobros. Did you get your answer? I never thought yoast had a wordpress support forum and they redirected me there https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-seo. Said they cannot reproduce the issue.
Yoast has a support forum on WordPress.org for the free version; for the pro/paid version you have direct support with 24-48 hour replies direct from Yoast co. They have a github page to submit verifiable and reproducable bugs; and this is why they often have many ‘dot updates’ after a new full version (so it’s wise to WAIT when they do v 5 for 5.0.3 or whatever; this is very common with them). Also good to keep prior versions to roll back if mission critical as with *all* plugins.
Did you try getting older version from Github, to see if rolling back to prior version solved issue? Also check debug ‘on’ to see errors in WP if any?
Google+ usually has no issues grabbing content (I just did it!), but they can time out, and they want images to be 696px or larger now ((sigh)), and obviously you do need all your open graph tags set properly. They may also skip content if you copy it from other sources and link to the original content creator (we don’t do that here but I’ve seen it).
Anyway — if they can’t reproduce the issue, then good to try going through *all* your Yoast SEO settings one by one and double checking everything — and double checking the actual ‘on page’ meta data on the post itself doing ‘view source’ — if all the correct info *is* in fact there, then the issue is entirely on Google’s side of the street.
Hi Team,
I am sure it is the issue between Newspaper 8 and Yoast. We are just the users of both two applications. We don’t have the responsibility to correct this problem. Also, we don’t have the capability to work out the solution too. We can only point out the issue. That’s all we can do.
As you are the supplier of Newspaper 8, it is your responsibility to work out the solution for all users, right? If not, new users may be hesitate to buy your application.
Hope you can further discuss with Yoast to work out the solution.
Thank you.
Hello,
Sorry but unfortunately there is little to be done from the theme side.
I will add this to our bug list and pass this information on to the development team so they can have a look and see if there is something to be done from our side. Until such time, you can try different versions of yoast or even give a third party plugin a shot. There are many sharing plugin to choose from for a temporary solution.
Thank you!
They did do a Yoast SEO plugin update today, so you might retry that.
@nicobros — It’s not TagDiv’s responsibility to fix issues with other plugins, obviously. If the meta data is on your page, then that’s what Google reads. Theme doesn’t “stop Google” from reading your content. If it’s there, it’s there. Duh.
We’re not having any issues with our sites.
Of course, Google routinely has problems — today (11/15/17) they are not pulling in posts via Feedburner and auto-posting to Twitter from any of our sites. That isn’t theme related either, but issue with Google/Feedburner.
Same problem here, Yoast said this:
We checked your site and found that the Yoast plugin is outputting the correct OpenGraph tags that Google+ uses to create the snippet in your site. See attached image source.png.
However, we found some additional microdata tags lower down in the source, that seem to be overwriting the information in the OpenGraph tags. See attachment microdata.png
Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Seventeen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or a theme conflict.
I did many test like Yoast recommend, and the Google+ sharing on posts bug, continue when activate Newspaper theme.

Thank you!
Hi,
The option works properly on our theme demo: https://www.screencast.com/t/mV0uADnA
And also on our testing platforms: https://www.screencast.com/t/eO9GVAyxYWmr
The issue is not from the theme side.
Thank you!
This is the response from Yoast
Hi,
While we are not sure exactly what is going on we do know Google+ first looks for any schema and if it cannot find it then looks for OpenGraph (OG) tags. Google explains it here: https://developers.google.com/+/web/snippet/
In viewing your source code we can see both a schema and opengraph tags. Both of these are outputted by Yoast.
So it may be Google+ is using the schema rather than the OG tags. We need some more information.
1. If you go to SEO-Dashboard-Company Info and delete the Company Name and then re-share the article does the right content appear?
2. Does clearing your caching from your plugin, theme, server, browser, or CDN such as Cloudflare resolve the issue?. If you are not sure how to clear your server caching, please speak with your host provider. This guide explains more about how to clear browser caching: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.
I followed step 1 and put several urls to test and all is fine now.
