Hi all,
I’m using Yoast SEO (also tried Add Meta Tags) plugin to handle all the METAs and SEO related stuff.
I’ve never been able to have Google or Bing show my hand written META DESCRIPTION but only the Visual Composer stuff ([vc_row]… and so on).
I’ve removed the itemprop call in the <body> and the <title> hardcoded settings (child template) but I won’t be able to see any result for a few days.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Not sure what modifications you have done. The theme is constantly tested with Google Structured Data Testing tool and it should not be any errors. I understand what you say.
I think the fact that both Newspaper and the SEO plugins declare og and schema data creates conflicts.
That’s why I’ve had to remove some declarations hardcoded in theme’s header.php.
Now Google serves my META DESCRIPTION correctly for the Italian version.
I’d like to know which other SEO declarations have you hardcoded in your theme so have an easy way to find them!
Since you’ve already done an extensive SEO work on your theme, maybe you should consider integrating a SEO plugin in your theme =)

The theme comes with a basic SEO structure, the rest is handled by the Wordpres Seo by Yoast plugin and it shouldn’t be any conflict.
Only the og:image is added by the theme, the rest come from the plugin, the author meta is in the same area – http://screencast.com/t/KEBjf2uzm
From your first post i see that you removed the itemprop on body, if you want to remove or play with the rest of the richsnippets search for them in the theme – http://screencast.com/t/lypCgw4gO1t – we use PhpStorm.
We follow the best practices but ultimately google decides how your posts are displayed. Unfortunately we don’t plan to integrate a SEO plugin, some clients may not like SEO by Yoast and they use another SEO plugin.

thanks for taking time to look into my problem.
I do use SEO by Yoast too and I’ve never touched the code in your theme until recently.
What’s puzzling me is that search engines don’t fetch what they should.
Meta description is random, there’re no categories in google search and so on.
Do you know anyone that can provide me paid SEO code assistance please?

Search engines like Google may choose to display data in different ways depending on the content and other unknown parameters. We use Google webmaster tools and their Structure data testing tool to make sure everything is fine. We also check the SEO on successful sites which usually have one or more SEO specialists hired.
Unfortunately we don’t know anyone who can help you analyze the behavior you found on your side, a solution may be to look for a professional on places like http://studio.envato.com/
Also check the robots.txt, sometimes their configuration may cause issues because the search engine takes their configuration into account when it crawls your site.
