We are in the process of updating our website from Newspaper 7 to Newspaper 11. In this dev environment Newspaper-child 11 theme is active. The plugin td-standard-pack is also active.
We are trying to add some ad units divs into the pages with code, however, any code we add in the -child theme’s folder is being ignored.
We are following the td-standard-pack’s structure, like in the tutorial (https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/). For instance, we want to add a header ad unit div (top banner), so we added the page ads.php like this (/td.r4you.co is our dev environment):
/td.r4you.co/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/parts/header/ads.php
What we are trying to achieve (production environment — Newspaper 7): https://www.tenhomaisdiscosqueamigos.com/

Hi,
After the theme update you need to also change the theme child (use the one from Newspaper v11), after that the files mentioned in our guide should work in the child theme.
Also, I suggest if you want to try the tagDiv Composer and cloud templates, in this way you can edit on frontend the layout and set the ads almost in any place.

I tried adding php code in the Cloud templates and tagDiv Composer, but it didn’t seem to work (we need to add PHP code as well).
We used the -child theme that was inside the Newspaper 11 zip file we got when the theme was purchased. How do we get the Newspaper 11 child theme?

Indeed the cloud templates (like WordPress) do not allow directly injection with php code.
You can get the child theme by downloading the theme from the theme forest account in full package (all documents), then unzip the archive and the child theme will be inside the package.
