Problem with post image url and Google indexation

Dear All,

I am facing a problem with the images on my posts. Let me explain it by giving an example:

EXAMPLE 1:
When I search through Google “Restaurantes sin gluten en Plovdiv” it is driving my visitor to an image gallery of all images without displaying the written content:
https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2/

I expect Google to take my visitors to the entry with combined text and content:
https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2/

The entry has the name “restaurantes sin gluten en plovdiv (2)” and when I create this new entry, wordpress automatically generates the url: http://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2

The name of the main image (imagen destacada) in the post in this case is the same “Restaurantes sin gluten en Plovdiv (2)”. Also for the Alt title.

EXAMPLE 2:
In this case, I type in “Restaurantes sin gluten en Sofia” and Google provides the url of another image gallery of the entry but not displaying the written content:
https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/en/gluten-free-restaurants-in-sofia-1/terraza-restaurante-sin-gluten-soul-kitchen-sofia-bulgaria-2/

Again a slider of
In both cases, the given url does not belong to the image.
URL of the image library in the first example: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2.jpg
URL of the image library in the second example: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/terraza-restaurante-sin-gluten-soul-kitchen-sofia-bulgaria.jpg

Do you know why this is happening?

Is there any specific configuration in the Theme Panel to avoid the creation of these urls and image galleries without the text?

Please, could you tell me how can I solve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your support

Hi,

The problem is that the images have the same/identical name as the posts, please change the make and url of posts or images, it will be recommended to change the images name and url and update theme again in your posts, after that ask google to re-index the posts, this will solve the problem.
Ask Google to recrawl your URLs -> https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en

Thank you!

Good morning Calin,

first off, thank you for your quick answer.

In the first example is true that post and image has the same name but the urls within wordpress are different isn’t it?
– Post: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2/
– Image: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2.jpg

In the second example, the image that Google displays has not the same name than the post, like the url where Google takes us, which is a combination of the post in the english version of my website, the name of the post in english, and the name of the image:
– Post name: Restaurantes sin gluten en Sofia
– Post url: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/restaurantes-sin-gluten-en-plovdiv-2/
– Image name: terraza restaurante sin gluten soul kitchen sofia bulgaria
– Image url: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/terraza-restaurante-sin-gluten-soul-kitchen-sofia-bulgaria.jpg
– URl given by Google: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/en/gluten-free-restaurants-in-sofia-1/terraza-restaurante-sin-gluten-soul-kitchen-sofia-bulgaria-2/

Before changing all images on the website, I would like to know if having the image name like the post is not compatible, and where this url comes from: https://www.glutenfreeadventures.net/en/gluten-free-restaurants-in-sofia-1/terraza-restaurante-sin-gluten-soul-kitchen-sofia-bulgaria-2/

thank you in advance for your support,

Hi,

Normal there should be no problems if the urls are not the same, but in same cases can appear from plugins.

Please check in Yoast SEO settings -> https://i.imgur.com/rTcInu7.png also I see that your website is multi-language, you need to make sure that your posts links are indexed correctly.

If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thank you!
