hi there loving the theme
just having a issue not sure if its just me.
Wanting to change the background color of the text block from the site background so when i change it the design settings inside the text block or column using VComposor it remains the same
any ideas on this?

Please send me a link to your site so I can check this, also please try to add a class to your text block like this: http://screencast.com/t/JbtiwRvGLf9 Then use that class to set the background color as you like: http://screencast.com/t/LSm3oaErskM
You can use and add the same class as I did, just add the class like shown in the first screenshot and then add the custom css from below in your custom css field from theme panel:
.my-text-block-class {
background-color: #4db2ec;
