Problem with Visual Composer

Config:
Newspaper 7.1.1, Visual Composer 4.8.1
For some reason there is very little functionality in the VC; the front end editor is non existent and the element selection doesn’t close. I have deactivated all plugins, removed the VC and reinstalled it with no change in functionality. Below I have copied the output of the FireFox console which may give a clue although it is meaningless to me.

Hello Bob,
The front-end editor from visual composer was removed as it created issues with our theme. I’m not sure how the “element selection doesn’t close” but issues with CV were caused by the latest version of wordpress and VC 4.9
Please update visual composer to version 4.11.2.
You can follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thank you!

Hi Bogdan:
Thank you. Installing VC 4.11.2 seems have solved the problem. I had forgotten that in updating Newspaper I also had to reach into the file and independently update the VC plugin.
Regards,
Bob
