Hi:
After activating the WordPress Related Posts https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin/ the Newspaper theme panel doesn’t work well, for example: selecting Custom Typography and clicking on any option keeps showing the “loading” animation in infinite loop.
Is there anything that can be done to fix it?
Thank you!
Hi,
We did not tested the plugin with the theme, but you ca try to disable all plugins, leave only Visual Composer and WordPress Related Posts plugins active, clear cache and see if it works. Maybe there it is a conflict with another plugin(s) that you use.
Thanks!
Hi:
I tried what you said, but I found some weird behavior. Explanation:
At first, I noticed the issue when the WordPress Related Posts (from now on: WRP) was active, then I deactivated another plugin Yuzo Related Posts and the issue disappeared. Then I deactivated Yuzo and reactivated WRP and no issue. Then I reactivated Yuzo along with WRP and the issue appeared again.
Then I deactivated all, one by one and now I have Yuzo and WRP active and there is no issue, but I found that another plugin Better Click to Tweet when active is causing the same behavior in theme panel and Visual Composer edit mode on pages.
So I tried disabling another plugin Fetch Tweets and with BCT activated the issue has gone. :/
Then I deactivated another plugin WebKite and activated Fetch Tweets and theme panel works well. :O
So I’m clueless
Likely one of the plugins wasn’t updated for WP 4.1 or is doing something funky like re-loading jquery a second time, or using a style class used elsewhere.
Often checking the support forum for each plugin on wordpress.org is a good indicator if something amiss with the plugin.
I had a custom plugin to do related posts on sidebar — but it won’t work with any modern theme at all; works with Woo Canvas and some old stuff, but nothing current. So, obviously not a theme issue — but generally a plugin that doesn’t “play well” with others in how it does a query, like not resetting its query after doing one, etc.
Not sure if that helped – just a comment.
Hi,
@osckar Please take a look at your plugins and see if they are updated and work properly with WordPress like Christopher suggested. Also please use only the plugins that you really need and disable the others. Like I said and also you figured out there is a conflict between some plugins, so I cannot provide you a solution for this. Only you can solve this issue.
Thanks!
Hi guys:
Yes, I’m having a hard time finding what’s going on. The related posts plugin is now behaving well, no conflict with the theme panel (magically). I deactivated and reactivated the plugins in many combinations to find the guilty one (haha) but still no luck; anyway, I will let you know.
Thanks for your help!
