Problems in different browsers

It has recently been brought to my attention that my site is giving people using different browsers some problems.

So I use Chrome as my go to browser and never see the problems some of my readers have until they tell me.

Firefox: Doesn’t refresh…if you go there now you’ll see an article a couple of days old, not the most current one.

Safari: Not showing most recent articles.

IE 9: If you open the site again, the newest articles are not showing up as they should (like Firefox). Also, if you look at the lower blocks I have setup, images seem to bust out of the container setup for their image.

I don’t have any problems in Chrome so I am a bit confused…it seems like a cache thing…but I have no idea how to correct this.

Hi, don’t know if this will help … we had this same issue on one site and was driving me crazy. Turns out the CSS had been cached by the visitor’s browser, and so when they returned it would show them old layouts/missing elements etc.

In our case, we had to turn OFF the caching and mod_pagespeed entirely for several days on the site to let everybody load the new CSS/JS stuff and not the old stuff. Then the refresh worked for folks where their browser wasn’t clearing the cache properly. Tended to be more often with Firefox.

I waited 4 days then turned the caching and mod_pagespeed back on and it seemed to have solved the problem.

Not sure this will apply to your case, but might be worth a try.

btw — helps to turn OFF all caching, mod_pagespeed, etc., when doing a theme update.

Hello, I am having the same problems.

I have W3 Total Cache with only active Page Cache module, but the cache is not updated the same for all browsers.

In Chrome takes time, Firefox and more. For example, in Firefox now shows me the cache of the day May 23. Although tap Empty all caches, not renewed.

well the caching system are not perfect, try looking on W3 Total Cache forum, maybe they have a solution to issue.
my advice is to stop using cache and move to a better server.

I have the same problem, firefox is not updating my homepage at all. I delete Cache, also deactivate and nothing, still showing all post. How do I fix this issue

I changed to WP Super Cache and I have no problem. At least for now.

@jesunavarro WP Super Cache is way better then W3 Total Cache i’ve been using WP Super Cache for a very long time and it do a very good job and fast and i never once run in any cache issue with that plugin..

Yes, I have always worked with WP Super Cache, but I installed W3 Total Cache by the recommendations of the creators of Theme (I do not agree in this case). I had problems with W3, I switched to WP Super Cache and, for now, everything is correct.
