hi there …

its quite hard to explain this in english. but i will try … 😉

i am having spme problems setting up the correct sidebars for categories and posts. i have created a standard sidebar either for a category and for all posts. But when hitting the save button (after telling each category, which sidebar to use) in some cases it will not save these options.

and the sidebar for posts did not appear at all. until i had published my last post (a few minutes ago). in this post the correct (but almost empty) sidebar is shown. but in no ohter post. although all posts are now set to the default sidebar, as it did not work so far …
so i am really confused, why it suddenly shows up. although i did not choose it for that speacial post.

all caches (incl browser cache) are fresh and emptied. permalink structure has been resaved. …

i dont know, what i am doing wrong … 🙁

my url is http://www.1-2-family.de

ah. and another thing:

in the category “Verbraucher” the view of the category should be M8. But its on default. I dont know how often i have hit the save button. But it just wont change the layout style.

warmest regards
torsten

Hi,

The saving problem may be cause by the max_input_vars = 1000; value inside the php.ini file, if you have access to it change it to max_input_vars = 5000; and restart the apache.
If you don’t have access to php.ini please contact the serve administrator and ask him about this issue.

The sidebar can be set on:
3. Template – http://screencast.com/t/FXZG2Aj9yp
2. Category (it will override the template sidebar)
1. Post (it will override the category and template sidebar)

Thank you, Emil G.
