Problems with Categories and Subcategories

For my posts I have created some categories and subcategories. For example –> Garten (garden) –> Gemüsegarten (vegetable garden) –> Gewächshaus (greenhouse). When I createad the categories and subcategories they showed up perfectly in the megamenu but since the update most of them are not showing anymore. Garten (garden) is missing as an own categorie, roses is not shown as a subcategorie of Gartenpflanzen (gardenplants) anymore and most of the categories and subcategories are missing anyway. The problem appears also by other categories like recipes, travelling and so on…

Ok, but why it doesn’t show all categories in the first and second line at all? That is the biggest problem. Most of the categories are missing!!! They are not showing up!

I have created the megamenu in the following way:

Familie (categorie) with the following subcategories:
– Bei mir daheim
– Belletristik
– Deko (here it shows the subsubcategorie Ostern next)
and the following subcategories are missing:
– Endometriose
– Kinderbücher
– Kinderwunsch
– Schwangerschaft

All the other categories show the same problem: the first 4 categories are shown, but the rest is missing. Before the update there was a drop down option but this one is lost. The mega menu is set up correctly in design (appearance –> menu). So how I can get back the dropdown-option and is there a way that a subsubcategorie like easter is shown like such one? Everything in the menu looks as the same, there is no more difference if its a subcategorie or not. The standardpack is disabled.

The purple ones are just normal subcategories and no subsubcategories. A subcategory is just Ostern (easter). I found in the composer an option that the display of subcategories was limited to maximal 4. I think that was the problem. Now you can see all subcategories. But before the update there was a drop down option for more than 4 subcategories. I can’t find it anymore.
