Dear support,
i installed Newspaper theme in my new wordpress site and i imported “Fast news” demo.
I want to use child theme and so i installed the one i found in the theme package.
There i s a problem with layout of single post: with child theme ther is a different sidebar and with a different header style and i can’t understand why.
If you want to check it you have to set yuor file .host as it:

Unfortunately, since Newspaper v9.7 the child theme is working only for the functions.php and style.css files.
Also make sure that there is Is no plugin conflict between the child and plugins.

Also there will be very soon an update that will make the child theme to work properly.

There are no other plugin except the default ones (TagDiv) installed with the theme, so it can’t be a conflict. Anyway i tried to exclude one to one but i didn’t solve my problem.
With child theme active i can’t change layoute of pages and it’very strange.
In the “Post setting” area the selection of layout in the “Post template” area does not work.
I change template but the page in frontend does not change.
Why? It’s a big problem i can’t start develop my site.

Please make sure that you have the last version of the theme v9.7.4 and please use the child theme from that package, that should work properly.

Hi,
i had v9.7.3 and child theme from your package uploaded through ftp and it does not work.
So i updated theme version but child theme didn’t work.
I tried to zip the child theme file and to upload through wp admin panel and now it works.
I suggest you to provide to users child theme zipped and to update your documentation.
I registered the theme with api, why i did not see the available update?

We’ve tried to keep our documentation up to date for the child theme and for the rest of the theme functionality.
Since Newspaper v9.7 the theme functionality was moved in ta-composer and the child theme was working only with style.css and functions.php; but now in the last version ( Newspaper v9.7.4 ) the child theme is working again like before and the files from td-composer plugin can be set in the child theme -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
We recommend to set the child theme via FTP, also if you are using the envato api, there can be a little delay until you’ll receive the available update.
