Hi there,

I’m on a mac trying to access the theme PSD files. I downloaded a mac version of 7zip however when I use it to unzip the PSD.7z file the files all say they are zero bytes.

Are you able to assist?

Kind Regards,
Lauren

Hi,
you might try “The Unarchiver” which is free in the Mac app store.

This does support the 7-zip file format.

What I use personally on BOTH my Macs and PCs is the robust, awesome and super useful WIN-RAR, which is $29 but will decompress ANYTHING:

I have same problem. I’m on a mac using macOS Sierra and I cannot open the zipped file. I’ve tried all the options above but none of them work.

Why don’t you just supply the psd in the download zipped archive (like every other theme does?).
So frustrating! Please can you just send me a link? And I can download from there.

I’ve just bought this theme and due to this I’m considering getting a refund. Too Windows orientated.

No problem:

This should not be an issue in 2016 though. The post is almost 3 years old. If your mac does n ot support 7z, you shoul’d install a software that can unpack 7z archives. There are lots of solutions out there.
Thank you!

Yes, I know it’s 3 years old. I knew there would be others out there with the same problem so why start a new thread?

And I’m at a loss to why I should fork out 40 dollars to purchase an un-archiver just because I’m on a mac when you can provide a simple link…. Like all other wordpress theme sellers do.

But Thank you. Much appreciated. 😉

Ah! I’ve realised this is in the Newspaper forum… I have purchased Newsmag. Can I ask for that psd instead please?

Yikes. Sorry to be such a pain.

Also for those who use Google, easy find:

How to Open a .7z File in Mac OS X

Follow these steps to open and decompress .7z files:

First you need to download Unarchiver (it’s free, you can also get it from the Mac App Store)

https://itunes.apple.com/app/the-unarchiver/id425424353?mt=12&ls=1

Launch Unarchiver and you’ll see a file association list, tell Unarchiver to associate with .7z files (you can select others if you wish)

Once Unarchiver is associated with the .7z you can then double-click any .7z file on your Mac and it will open and uncompress like any other archive format, or you can launch Unarchiver and drag and drop 7z files into the utility

You do not have to buy anything. There are plenty of free solutions to decompress most archives on any machine as Chris suggests above. We did not even consider this an issue at all.
If you want the psd’s for newsmag as well, here is a zip archive: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/psd_newsmag.zip

Thank you!
