I’ve tried to wrap my head around the purpose of primary and secondary categories.
If I set a post to primary category, example “Culture”, and secondary category to “City” I would expect that post to be posted first in block that only sorts for Culture categories and NOT in the block that sorts only City categories?
If “Newspaper” really doesn’t understand to sort based on primary category, then *why* do we have primary and secondary category system?
If it is, however, supposed to sort accordingly, what am I missing?

We are not aware of any secondary category option, but the primary category is specified here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/
The block sorting options are not affected by the primary category option. If your post has multiple categories, it will show up anywhere one of it’s categories is specified.

If you specify multiple categories one is primary, hence the others are secondary!
My question still remains: why doesn’t the post with a designated primary category specified show in the primary first, but in one of the other categories specified?
As it seems now it is like that if other (secondary) category comes first on page the post will show there even though it has another category specified as primary and should be shown there.
I don’t understand WHY you have primary categories when you cannot sort posts that belong to multiple categories, and should only be visible in one specific of them on front page.

Unfortunately, please keep in mind that this is the default theme behaviour regarding the primary category. As a remark, the primary category will not affect the block sorting…so if the primary category exists in the post, and that post is in a block which is sorted by another category which is not primary, the post will appear.
