hi everybody,
i’m trying to reduce image weight, mostly working on compressing quality of the default image i upload on the single article.
but i’ve noticed that when that article (and that image) appears on the slide as the opening image on homepage, or on blocks, that image is often heavier than the default one, also if it’s cropped.
example:
– article img 1074*483 73K

– same img cropped on the homepage opening slide 700*357 80K

is there a way to reduce weight to reduced images used on blocks?
on the blog there is already a wp-smush plugin active, and the media compression quality is setted to 50%

I have searched your site but couldn’t find an example for this as I have also checked on demo and haven’t found any issues of this type:
ex:

I’m not also sure how this happens for you in first place as normally an cropped image should weight less than the original one or than one that is wider or higher especially if the thumb image is cropped from the original larger one in which means the quality should be the same.
As I have noticed, in your case, is that you use an CDN host service so to make sure that this isn’t happening somehow do to it I suggest purging files then empty cache and deactivate all other plugins also then check again by uploading an image and settings it on blocks/sliders and check again for this and let me know of what you find.
