Your new update forces us to rebuild our websites,
how will creating a new front page affect our google ranking?
Do we have to replace all posts created before the update?
Creating a new layout on your home page with same type of blocks does not harm your Google ranking, as with the same content related to topic you cover, there is no difference in what Google “sees” in relation to what your audience happens to be. You can read up on Google’s many documents and forums on that issue.
layout yes, but I have to make a new page. If I make a new home page and delete the old one, then the new page has to get ranked again doesnt it? not every page on a website has the same ranking….
So after I have finished creating a new front page with the tdcomposer I can go to the setting, set the new static page to the one I just created and I wont lose any google ranking? I just want to be sure that I am doing it right 🙂
No, it’s still your index page … your home page is not a “page” like changing from
/pricelist/
to
/pricing-chart/
might be two different pages
an index page is an index page for your home page; it does not actually ‘exist’
so making a new page isn’t a new page, it is just new layout ….
