I’ve just added a Quickread plugin here howdoidate.com which means when you click on the Quickread button on each image it shows an excerpt and then you can click on view whole post.
Unfortunately it’s not showing post thumbnails when you click on Quickread because (according to the developer of Quickread) Newspaper doesn’t support post thumbnail html function.
Is there an easy way round this to enable the Newspaper theme to support post thumbnail html function?

We have not tested this particular plugin with our theme and cannot provide a quick solution for it. It seems that the theme and the plugin use 2 different methods to get the image thumbnail. The theme uses get_post_thumbnail method – http://screencast.com/t/Wljq5UlkX1e1 The plugin could be using this method: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_post_thumbnail.
In order to make them compatible you have to modify either the theme or the thumbnail to use the same method for grabbing thumbnails. Unfortunately it will be no easy task and it will require a bit of coding knowledge. We suggest you hire a freelancer to do it for you if you cannot manage it because we cannot offer custom work at the moment.
