Hello,
We have a grid setup on the home-page that is configured to sort the articles in random order. The short-code looks correct, but does not appear to be working: [td_block_big_grid_3 category_id="3686" sort="random_posts"] — are we missing anything from the short-code? From what I’ve read it looks like the Newspaper theme uses WordPress wp_query() function to deliver random posts, so if a category and random sort order are set, it should deliver random posts from, the specific category. Currently the articles display in the same order on each page refresh; we would like the home-page grid to randomize the order upon refreshing.
The website URL is: toolsinaction.com — please advise if there’s anything else you need to help troubleshoot the issue.
Hi,
I have tested this post sorting on the same big grid, and it is working properly. It must display random posts from the category you choose

If the category you choose has posts in it, then they should display randomly as it is meant to.
This could be also a caching issue. Maybe you have caching installed or the server has a cache. That can produce the same page content, and not refresh the data.
Thanks
Hello,
The selected category has (4) posts assigned to it. It’s pulling the correct posts, except the order is not randomized.
We do not have server-level caching enabled, or any active plugins that affect caching. Is there anything else it could be? We also updated to the latest version of the theme recently (version 8.0).
Hi,
Try creating a test page with the same grid and random post sorting option and choose a different category. Check if the posts displayed are randomized. It could be a plugin conflict as well.
I have created a category with 4 posts in it with the same sorting option

After each refresh the 4 posts are randomized between them.
Thanks
Hello,
I created a test page with the same grid using random posts and different categories. The issue still persist, so I tried deactivating all of the plug-ins, and that did not resolve the issue.
Do you have any additional suggestions to help isolate the issue?
