Hi
I am displaying some posts on my top page and i have the filter set to random. However the same top 3 posts always appear. I have cleared browser cache, its happened with no caching plug in as well. I have just installed WP Super cache and set up as per the instructions in your guide (which is a little out of date as it looks different.) But still its not randoom.
Any ideas?

There are plans to update the guide, sorry for that. The settings would be the same, only renamed.
The non-logged users will be served a cached page, so the random sorting will not work. You could set a timeout before the cache is automatically cleared

When the time runs out the cache will be cleared and the blocks that use a random sorting should display other posts.

The problem isnt the cache setting as this was happening even before i installed WP super cache. I have a block on this page https://myokotourism.com/ half way down titled “amazing things to do this summer”
On all my browsers the same 3 posts always display. I have clearred browser cache and no change. It is set to random but will never display random.

I have tested the solution I mentioned and it seems to work. After the timer runs out, the cache will be cleared automatically and the posts randomized.
If you have tested this without the caching plugin and deleted the cache, but random posts are not displayed, then the issue could be another one. There could be another cache active, maybe server provided. With no caching the posts will always be randomized.
As long as the cache is not cleared regularly manually or automatically, the block will not display random posts.
Test on a new page with the cache plugin deactivated and cache deleted, place a block with random sorting, see if it displays random posts.

I have no other cache plug-in installed. I even check files on the server to make sure nothing was there. There is no server cache. As mentioned this has been like this since i made the site. Here is the test site before i moved it to the live area https://myokotourism.com/newtourismsite/
this has no cache plug in at all yet the summer activities area still doesnt change.
