Does the Read More Tag work in Newspaper? If not, what’s good option?

Hello,
The read more tag will not work with our theme as our excerpts on modules and blocks are custom made. The excerpts work differently than the wp ones. Please read the documentation of excerpts to see how to set them up: https://forum.tagdiv.com/excerpts-introduction/
Alternatively, you can type in a custom excerpt from this field: http://screencast.com/t/AX3LlnMq23k
