Hi tagDiv
I am trying to use the ‘Recent Posts’ widget in my sidebar to display all recent posts of a certain category. I am using the ‘Visibility’ capability, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me. If I set visibility to show or hide a specific category the result is that no posts are displayed (in fact the widget does not display in the sidebar at all). If I set visibility to hide or show a specific tag, however, the opposite happens – the sidebar seems to ignore any visibility settings and displays all recent posts. Could you please offer some advice on this, or suggest another way I might be able to show recent posts in a certain category in a sidebar?
(Still loving the Newspaper theme, though, apart from this issue!)
Thanks
Gavin
OK – I’ve looked into this and realised I have misunderstood what this function does. It is not designed for what I’m trying to achieve.
What I’m trying to do is have ‘latest posts’ widget appear on the sidebar of a specific page but to show only the latest posts from a certain category – so effectively filtering the content in the ‘latest posts’ widget by a certain category (or tag). Does anyone know if this is possible?
Hi,
You can use a Block from theme, not the default Latest post widget from WordPress. On our Block you can filter the content like you want http://screencast.com/t/eemtdWUg
Thanks!
All blocks from Page builder are available as Widgets and you can use then in sidebars http://screencast.com/t/yaN0jdQCvlD
