Thanks for your newspaper theme and for keeping it updated.
I am currently using the wordpress built-in plug-in at the moment.
But I am looking at a new comment system. What do you recommend in light of being compatible with newspaper theme?

Why do you need a new commenting system?
On our websites we use built-in wordpress comments whith this plugin (lot of settings!): http://wpdiscuz.com/
But keep in mind that developers do not provide support for untested plugins.

Thanks for your answer and your hard work. I have 3 questions.
1. What should I to to use wpdiscuz system? Is it already built in? Or should I install wp-discuz? From wpdiscuz homepage I saw a function that lets you log in with other social network accounts. I don’t see the function so I am asking.
2. I am aware that mailchimp is compatible. How can I use it? Should I install it seperately? I did though.
3. When people sign in, does it mean that they sign in with wordpress system? What is the best way the take care of my potential customers?; mailchimp, wordpress sig-in system, buddypress or bb press.

2. Mailchimp would be compatible with the theme, you could use that as a newsletter/subscription functionality on your website

There is a newsletter element in the tagDiv composer, in which you can enter newsletter codes, currently from only a few providers however (Mailchimp works)

This element can only be placed on pages at the moment. For post sidebars you can use a text widget and enter the form code in it.
3. The theme uses the default WordPress login/user role capabilities. This will affect the actions they can take once logged in. Users can create an account and you can decide on their role. I believe the default user role set is subscriber

There are membership plugins you could try instead of the default login, bbpress plugin is also compatible with the theme. Depending on what you want to do, there surely would be a corresponding plugin.
