The error message in the title is showing up in Google search console. I’ve had a look into what is causing the issue, and when going to inspect element in Google Chrome on my AMP homepage, it’s referencing the AMP page rather than the full homepage.
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://thethctimes.com/?amp”>
This is only happening for the homepage. Does anyone know what’s causing this?
Thanks
Hello,
Please make sure that you set the amp as in our documentation -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
Please provide some more details about this problem with amp that you are facing, also some screenshots will be very helpful!
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
This is the problem showing up in search console

When inspecting the page through Google Chrome there’s this pointing to the AMP page

On the AMP version of the same page there’s this, which I think should be pointing to the non-AMP homepage?

Thanks
Hi,
The amp version can be change only if you are using the mobile theme and choose one of this option http://prntscr.com/opfq3m ( amp and mobile theme or only am and responsive version ) the settings that you make in mobile theme will reflect in amp too -> http://prntscr.com/opfqmm -> http://prntscr.com/opfr1o
Also in validator you need to set the url of a page or link follow by the “/?amp”
-> https://search.google.com/test/amp?id=FafHjTAmY7ieEMo_6Rum5A this will not work for your website url ( this one https://thethctimes.com/?amp ).
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
I’m not exactly sure what you mean sorry. I’ve tested my homepage (the page with the error) and it shows up as a valid AMP page.
The problem is still there. What did you mean by this comment above?
“this will not work for your website url ( this one https://thethctimes.com/?amp ).”
Thanks
Hello,
If you want, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
I’m happy to do that, but I’d also like to know what’s causing the problem so I can fix it myself if it happens again next time.
Thanks
