I migrated my website to a new server, but I can’t get my featured images to get cropped. I regenerated my thumbnails with the plugin 3 times, still no luck. Is there something I’m missing? My website is in maintenance mode.

first, make sure the images folder is writable, and remember the theme and WP won’t “enlarge” images to crop them to fit, only smaller ones. Also, I think there is a setting in the panel under post setting > crop featured image which must be turned “on”

just FYI, I believe as of a couple versions back of WP, they now use the ImageMagick library vs GD libs.
Yep, I don’t have any GD lib enabled…

@Christopher Simmons, I think I still need the GD lib if I want to switch to imageMagick lib. Is it really better?

Seems like there is an plugin for this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/imagemagick-engine/ You should use it with caution though as it seems it hasn’t been updated in the last 2 years. I haven’t tested it so I can’t guarantee it will work, you should try though and share your result. Please also consider a backup before you use it.
