I am about to update Newspaper Theme to 8.5 from 8.1 by ftp.
Will I need to enter the registration key when installting the new version? If so how can I get it?
I can not see the full key in the admin interface (since it displays as AbC12******SOmething) and I did not save it elsewehere.

Most likely, you should activate again the theme after you have updated it via FTP way. You should check the manual activation from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/JAfpdoi7B
