I currently have Newspaper 8.7.2 theme installed to my website. When i turn on the related posts setting, it displays only the latest posts as related one under each post. I have tried with both categories and tags but result is the same.
Hello hebbars.kitchen,
If you are referring to this option from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VJiw5xuQWngT notice that you can use only one option, by categories or by tag and not the both at the same time, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
What I meant was I used one option at a time to test and both resulting in latest posts and not the related post from the same category or tags. I am aware that I cannot use both option simultaneously as it is obvious with the settings there. Please help me with this issue. I guess i could see a previous post in this forum with the same issue of related posts.
Have look at my development site – http://52.9.191.220/veg-burnt-garlic-fried-rice-recipe/
So the above post is is under rice category but the related posts displays only the latest articles from other categories. it should have displayed from the category rice but its failing there. currently i have switched off this function in my live site because of the same issue. also related articles and more from author have the same posts. I guess it could be an issue?
Note that currently related posts is configured to display from same categories.
Hello hebbars.kitchen,
I do not know what kind of category structure you have. From what I see you have a lot of subcategories. When you have a lot of subcategories, the related articles will give you posts from the main category. As a hint, I suggest you filter that section by Tags. Add the tag for each kind of food, RICE, etc.
Thanks for your understanding!
I have flat category structure. That means there isn’t any sub category under a category. I do not know how did you end up assuming that i have sub categories.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
