Hi there great theme,
Is there a way to display the “related articles” carousel in the sidebar on a single post page?
Similar to how a YouTube layout would be.

Relate article block wasn’t intent to be displayed in sidebar and to achieve that you’ll need some customizations in theme’s core files. This is a complex task which requires lots of customizations and tests in order to be achieved. Unfortunately we can’t offer custom work at the moment so if you need this and you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard my advice is to look for someone who can help you with implementation or hire a developer from sites like https://studio.envato.com/
