Hi,
I have a problem with the Open Graph. In an earlier topic on this forum I found something about it.
That only works if I place a post on my website with my own account. If for example a post place under a different name, he still gives an author again when I insert the link on Facebook.
Hi,
Please try to remove this code – http://screencast.com/t/l5wOtEPmOtEN then use fb debugger and fetch new scrape to refresh it, you should not have the author when the articles is shared – http://screencast.com/t/nzDTXd3k
Thanks!
Hi,
Please remove the code and provide a link so I can take a look. As I tested this and it works on my side.
Thanks!

Hi,
This is not author name added by the theme, like you can see this is your facebook id – http://screencast.com/t/SWqFGwu3eq It is added by Seo and unfortunately I cannot provide you a solution for this, you will have to ask to the plugin support.
Try to remove the facebook url from your profile and test your post using fb debugger – http://screencast.com/t/3RwwiiTBxj no author will be displayed.
Thanks!
I am also having the same problem. Mine says by ENDTIMESIGNS. It’s not a setting that I have to change from within Facebook because I managed to change it from ALEXANDER to ENDTIMESIGNS. Everytime I click the Facebook button I have this problem. I want the byline to say nothing. I don’t want an author added. I’ve tried plugins but nothing workes. I see you said to remove this code but I have Newspaper 6… where do I find this code to edit?
Hi,
This is the code for author open graph added in the theme files – http://screencast.com/t/l5wOtEPmOtEN If you remove it the SEO by Yoast(this we suggest to use) will control the author meta, so it will take the facebook username. You will have to remove the facebook url if you don’t want any author when the article is shared – http://screencast.com/t/OqZOF3RUjmj or contact the plugin support and ask about this.
Thanks!
Please make sure you use seo yoast and remove this part of the code: http://screencast.com/t/5EoaK07kYjB7 It still works in the current version of the theme. You probably have caching or a cdn server that is still feeding the unmodified file through.
Thank you!
It seems that after you updated the theme no custom code is working for you at all. I think yuu should consider running a few tests to see if any at all modification can be made on your site. Make a back-up of your install and theme and simply delete the whole code for the header.php file for example and see if the website still displays the same.
Thanks.
