On the homepage of the Coffee Blog template, there is a large space for an author picture and name. I would like to remove this. Where can I do this?

Do you are referring to this section from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/MACqhtKp Notice that you should simply edit your homepage with TD Composer and then you can add or remove any element you want from there.
