At the top of author pages it lists the number of posts for that author, as well as the number of comments. I will not be using comments on my site — can you tell me how to remove the comment count on author pages?
Also — how can I change it so that when a reader clicks on the author’s profile picture either below the post or on the author page, it will send them to the author’s website, instead of that author’s author page? Is there a way to do this without having to use a redirect plugin? Thanks!
Or even better — could I change it so I can specify any URL for the author profile picture?
What I did was just open up the author.php template and remove the little section for the comment count. 🙂

As for the redirect, you can use a redirect plugin or you can add 301 redirects in htaccess. This is where the code is being created for the author link: http://screencast.com/t/jS3yeYwf
