Using top posts in my sidebar but can’t seem to get rid of the front page there, even when I use the drop-down menu in customize to specify no pages. Please help.

Hi,
Blocks are designed to work with posts, so you can filter by category: http://screencast.com/t/AnI5FUrAr as pages do not have categories it should not appear on that block. You don’t have to specify no page anywhere.
Please provide more details as I’m not sure what you mean and link so we can take a look .
