I’m using big grid flex 5 on my home page https://www.westislandblog.com/newspapertheme/ and when i look on mobile, it’s going off the screen, is there a setting i’m missing to get it ok on mobile?

If I misunderstand please correct me and I will check again.
That image is too small, the theme cannot create a thumbnail from it. If the image is too small the theme will display it as it is in larger modules, not stretch it. Best to use larger images that will allow the creation of proper thumbnails, when possible

the client has a variety of sizes, some of the blocks seem to do fine with smaller images, some blocks. The block on the home page stretch them to fill the space, but somehow the blocks on the category pages do not?
