I want to use “Retina Images” with the images used in the article and “featured image”
i to “media setting” of wordpress with “Large size” is 696×435.
And I upload the image to the size 1392×870.
– Example image file name : playerunknowns-battlegrounds-gamescom-2017-trailer_guhz.jpg with 1392×870

am I right?

And the relative image size to upload is in line with the theme

Hi,
The theme will create standard thumbnails from the featured image you use. You can enable the creation of retina thumbnails in the theme panel

After you enable retina thumbnail you will have to regenerate the thumbnails, as mentioned. These thumbnails will be displayed on high resolution retina displays. The higher image size you use for the featured images, the better the quality.

Hi,
Retina images will be twice the size of the normal thumbnails. If the normal thumbnail is for example 696×435 the retina thumbnail will be twice that size. You can use bigger images than double if you want for the featured image, the thumbnail sizes are predefined. They will always be created the same size, both normal or retina.
