Hi,
I’m using the new version 1.2 of the theme and didn’t modify any theme file.
My rich snippets for my reviews are not working, could you please check and let me know how to fix it?
Thanks
Hi,
I have also tested this using the latest theme version and as you can notice from our demo the reviews are working fine and showing: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fdemo.tagdiv.com%2Fnewsmag%2Ftd-post-viral-potato-salad-kickstarter-campaign-turned-into-something-really-tasteful%2F
Please go trough this troubleshooter, follow the steps provided there and let me know: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1093493
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
I don’t understand much about the markup. The error I’m seeing now is:
“Error: Page contains property “maincontentofpage” which is not part of the schema.”
Why it is not located under http://schema.org/webpage like in your demo?
Hi,
Have you also tried to test it trough the structured data tool without any plugin active? If so please do so as this could be cause by a plugin.
I have also checked your page and noticed that the code of the page, not sure why that error appears but Google should just ignore it.
Please check without plugins and leave it a while or force it to fetch live data then let me know how it goes.
Regarding the “Missing required hCard author” error that appears because you are not using the author box on your post pages as you need an container with a css class that let’s google know that the container with that class is the author of the post.
We have added the hCard class to the author box so when you don not using it you have this error.
My suggestion is to enabled the author box or add it hard-coded like here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/small-issues-with-posts-authors-name-social-counter/
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Hi,
I tested on the site of Christopher and it has the same problem, check it out here:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fga-ga.com%2F1890%2Fbook-review-people-deserve-a-fighting-chance%2F
Yes, I am seeing the same issue, however note I am not YET running the latest version of theme; I do have the tagdiv speed booster plugin running, 3 adsense spots, and am running mod_pagespeed … however I can also confirm the rich snippets were verified working with Newspaper theme. I had not yet gotten to testing this element, frankly, with Newsmag. But, I can confirm I have the same issue as looking at a review page in Gogole SERPS does NOT show the rating. Oddly the rich testing tool is also saying my Google+ page is not a publisher, even though the sites are properly linked and the Google+ publisher page is correct; so there *is* some oddball thing there someplace.
(I suspect the Google+ publisher thing may be due to the phase out of the author element; however since the page is properly linked from the +NeotropeNet/posts G+ page in the meta source; not sure why that shows up.)
The only plugins I’m using are Yoast SEO, two image plugins for resizing, wp-optimize, auto hyperlinks/external links no-follow, and nothing I can see which would impact the snippets. However, I will revisit this once I update the theme to latest version. I was actually waiting to see if there was any dot-revision to the 1.3 iteration before I did that 🙂

Hi,
@ricky86 Please make sure that you use the latest theme version (1.3), we have fixed this on version 1.1 of the theme. Please also make sure that you disable all plugins and you turn off html minification.
If still dose not work please give us wp-access so we can also check this and send your login details via email at contact@tagdiv.com
Thanks
I have not yet tested/debugged this personally as waiting for the dot revision to theme to coincide with WordPress 4.1 update, and VC update. Once all that in sync, hopefully for Saturday, I’ll take a stab at debugging my own install by starting with only VC and theme running and all other shenanigans turned off, then go from there.
In case anybody following this somewhat important topic for those of us doing reviews 🙂
@Arved007
so best bet is to not keep adding same requests to other topics and just focus on creating your own, unless you have something to contribute to THIS ISSUE with the theme. Thanks 🙂
You can simply change that in your theme if you need to, nobody else is asking for that as it’s not a bug/problem.
Okay… we have a problem here, too.
With theme v 1.31 and WordPress 4.1, all plugins off except Visual Composer, and mod_pagspeed off, we’re seeing a problem with an example review page, here:
http://ga-ga.com/1890/book-review-people-deserve-a-fighting-chance/
when tested with the Google rich test tool,
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fga-ga.com%2F1890%2Fbook-review-people-deserve-a-fighting-chance%2F
the preview does not show the rating; although this does show in middle of the lineup
Item 2
type: http://schema.org/rating
property:
worstrating: 1
bestrating: 5
ratingvalue: 4.6
also showing the
Error: Page contains property “maincontentofpage” which is not part of the schema.
Very odd that the first schema hatom-feed also includes a “bookmark” element, which appears to be the first “related posts” item below author bio and social media elements, almost as if something from either the bio box or the summary for review is causing a grouping. There is a copyright symbol in the author bio, and there is a $ in the summary for price of book.
Very odd since conversely this page from the “demo” has no issue
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/td-post-baby-is-totally-delighted-by-his-first-taste-of-solid-food/
when comparing the two, the section on the hatom-feed is very different, and no “rdfa-node” box.
MOST NOTABLY for our own page, this important section is not fully fleshed out:
Item
type: http://schema.org/review
Very odd.
—————————
Will proceed with activating Yoast WordPress SEO next.
(continued)
okay, now with Yoast WordPress SEO “on” as well as “Limit Longin Attempts” plugin turned on (security to block repeat hack attempts by password guessing with bots); we now see the “rdfa-node” populated.
The preview still does not show the rating.
Publisher markup now on via Yoast setting, but “not verified publisher markup” error – even though it is verified.
Bookmark section related to item 1 appears to be error; as that is different story than “this page.”
TEST:
am removing all my custom CSS ….. NO CHANGE
TEST:
turn off post setting ‘show related articles’ …… NO CHANGE
except “bookmark” in first box, now shows link to the first item from sidebar under module “what’s new”
TEST:
remove sidebar second Google adsense box …. NO CHANGE
TEST:
remove all sidebar AdSense Ads (2) ….. NO CHANGE
TEST
switch sidebar ads back on; turn off header AdSense ad …. NO CHANGE
TEST
theme based social sharing at top/bottom of post = OFF ….. NO CHANGE
So (continued)
WP 4.1; Theme 1.31 Unit/Linux/Apache/CentOS
Not using child theme.
No minification.
Only changed name of theme folder and name in CSS file to sitename.
Not using megamenus.
Not using revslider.
Not using jetpack.
Disqus turned off.
HEADER.PHP HACK: (same hack we did with Newspaper where snippets worked right)
One hack to header.php was removing call to pingback since we don’t want that
REMOVED:<link rel="pingback" href="<?php bloginfo( 'pingback_url' ); ?>" />
Removed the “facebook sharing fix for videos” section, not needed for our use.
Yoast WordPress SEO = on
TagDiv speed booster = on
Post settings:
Default = style 2
Featured Images – use = on
Breadcrumbs = all on
Lightbox = off
more articles box = off
ajax count = off
Related article = show by category
Sharing – all off except show top article sharing
Still showing error of not seeing the rating in preview.
TEST:
on the off chance it’s one of my customizations in functions.php
(I turn off Yoast in toolbar, hide ?version numbers and change default compression; post message for those trying to hack login/ping)
I am removing all of those …… NO CHANGE
Argh. So far only thought at this point is checking the actual content that makes up the review text itself, but looking at the Techwalls site with same issue, I don’t see any oddball characters in the summary box that might cause such an issue.

Hi,
We’ve made some tests and it seems to come from the modules containing reviews used in the sidebar, on the demo there are none, that’s why the issue doesn’t appear there. We’ve added on the list for the next update, sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you, Emil G.
Thanks Emil,
I sure did try to debug this one 🙂
My next test was going to be to replicate your sidebar to see if it was a module there as nothing else appeared to be the cause.
Thanks so much for sorting that out!
Look forward to update for this one.
Chris
